【摘要】:1.1Thepurposeofthisspecificationistoprovideatestprocedureandperformancerequirementforthepunctureresistanceofmaterialsusedintheconstructionofcontainersfordiscardedmedicalneedlesandothersharps.Thistestspecificationwillestablish(1)theaveragepunctureforceand(2)aminimumvalueofpunctureforcethatcontainermaterial(s)mustwithstandwhenfollowingthetestproceduredescribedinSection6.Thisspecificationshallbeapplicabletoregionsofuniformmaterialandthickness,andneedlecontactareasasdefinedin3.1.7and3.1.9.MaterialsmeetingtheperformancerequirementsofSection4shallbeconsideredx201C;puncture-resistant.x201D;Thisspecificationdoesnotevaluatetheconstructionof,orprovidepass/failcriteriafor,asharpscontainer.1.2Thisspecificationprovidesatestproceduretodetermineifallregionsofonecontainermeetthematerialpunctureresistancerequirements.Itdoesnotdefinethenumberofadditionaltestcontainersrequiredtoachieveastatisticallyvalidsampleofamanufacturinglotorprocess.Anappropriatesamplingplanshallbedeterminedbythetestrequester,asthisdependsuponthemanufacturingprocessvariability,manufacturinglotsize,andotherfactors,suchasend-userrequirements.1.3Thisspecificationisintendedtoevaluatetheperformanceofmaterialsusedintheconstructionormanufactureofsharpscontainersundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions,andatnormalroomtemperature(see6.1).(Warningx2014;Thisspecificationonlycharacterizesmaterialpunctureresistanceatnormalroomtemperatures.Applicationsofsharpscontainersoutsidetherangeof23x00B1;2x00B0;C(suchasusageinemergencyvehicles)requirefurthermaterialcharacterizationbytheproductspecifiertodeterminesuitableuse.)1.4Thevaluesstatedininch/poundaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thefollowinghazardcaveatpertainsonlytothetestprocedureportion,Section6,ofthisspecification.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
