【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminetheabilityofanenginecrankcaseoiltocontrolwearthatcandevelopinthefieldunderlowtomoderateenginespeedsandheavyengineloads.Side-by-sidecomparisonsoftwoormoreoilsindeliveryvanfleetswereusedtodemonstratethefieldperformanceofvariousoils.Thespecificoperatingconditionsofthistestmethodweredevelopedtoprovidecorrelationwiththefieldperformanceoftheseoils.Thistestmethod,alongwithothertestmethods,definestheminimumperformanceleveloftheCategoryAPICG-4forheavydutydieselenginelubricants.PassinglimitsforthiscategoryareincludedinSpecificationD4485.Thedesignoftheengineusedinthistestmethodisnotrepresentativeofallmoderndieselengines.Thisfactor,alongwiththespecificoperatingconditionsusedtoacceleratewear,shallbeconsideredwhenextrapolatingtestresults.1.1ThisenginelubricanttestmethodiscommonlyreferredtoastheRollerFollowerWearTest.Itsprimaryresult,rollerfollowershaftwearinthehydraulicvalvelifterassembly,hasbeencorrelatedwithvehiclesusedinstop-and-godeliveryservicepriorto1993.ItisoneofthetestmethodsrequiredtoevaluatelubricantsintendedtosatisfytheAPICG-4performancecategory.Thistesthasalsobeenreferredtoasthe6.2LTest.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exceptions8212;WherethereisnodirectSIequivalent,suchaspipefittings,thermocouplediameters,andNPTscrewthreads.Also,rollerfollowerwearismeasuredinmils.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
